Six Rivers - Rhasta ROVCurrent Update - Update 1 - Team RosterThis week's goals:
This week's timeline:
We give ourselves an 8 out of 10 for how well we are meeting our timeline. Accomplishments: We took the team photo, completed the first update for the scholarship, and finished the goals for 3/13-14. Some things we had a hard time with are: We procrastinated for a few days, occasionally we don't listen to each other as much as we should and gathering enough money to purchase supplies has been challenging. We give ourselves 7 out of 10 for our overall progress level. Some ways we could improve are: We need to really focus on meeting deadlines and we need to practice being patient with each other. Some things we are doing well: We are good at following through when we set goals for ourselves. Some things we learned are: Team work and cooperation are crucial to the success of the project. Some questions we have: What does the box look like in Mission #2? What are the best manipulators for the various missions? How much power do the cameras and motors take? Weve found answers to those questions by: We looked up the box from Mission #2 on the internet and found a picture. We will study the missions and practice with different manipulators to find the appropriate ones. We will use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the motors and camera. Some things wed like to share: We would mega like to have a great time with the other teams! Next week's goals:
Next week's timeline:
Our advisor says: Dear Jessica Carillo, My Six Rivers Charter High School physics students have asked me to write you an update on their progress on their ROV project. These four students participated in a six-hour ROV design workshop on 2/11/06 at Arcata High School. They were the only high school students that attended. During the workshop participants designed an ROV, wired a control box and motors, and used the ROV in the Arcata Pool to complete simple missions. Since that time the students have registered for the ROV Competition on the MATE website and applied for your Carillo Underwater Systems scholarship. They are currently working on the design flowchart, raising sufficient funds, and creating the ROV design. Thank you very much for awarding the scholarship to these worthy students!
