CATE Center - Team Triton

Current Update - Update 1 - Team Roster

Team Name: Team Triton

This week goals: Get all the parts we need for the robot and make sure that the ones we have actually fit.

This week's timeline:
Monday: get cylinders ordered, find all the air buoyancy products and possibly order them, start cutting conducting wires for the tether, cut bilge pump motors for mounting
Tuesday: finish putting the connecting wires in the tether, get all the air buoyancy products ordered and establish final design
Wednesday: begin building the frame of the ROV
Thursday: build motor mounts, begin air system assembly
Friday: continue building the frame; continue constructing everything with what we have already.

We give ourselves out 5 of 10 for how well we are meeting our timeline.

Accomplishments: we now have some of our motors and some frame material to build our ROV

Some things we had a hard time with are: making our ROV model

We give ourselves 9 out of 10 for our overall progress level.

Some ways we could improve are: maybe work a little quicker and take advantage of the time we have.

Some things we are doing well: we have designated who is doing what for the team, i.e. Mike and Chris are building the model

Some things we learned are: team work is the key to success for a team to win.

Some questions we have had are: What size motors we should use to make maneuverability easier?

We have found answers to those questions by: talking to our advisor about the question

Next week's goals: Finish ordering the parts we need and maybe get more sponsors.

Next weeks timeline:
Monday: finish up on the frame of the ROV
Tuesday: finish up on the frame of the ROV
Wednesday-Friday: finish ordering the parts and complete frame of ROV

Our advisor says: our advisor says that he will get the parts for the wiring system and marine epoxy to seal the motors and water proof electrical connections.
