Why is your team participating in the MATE ROV Design Competition?
Our team is competing in this competition because we want to learn more about ROVs and their applications in life. We have an interest in ROV construction and robotics in general. We feel that participating in this program will help us learn more about the way our world works.

What has your team learned from previous participation in the MATE
ROV Design Competition and/or what does your team hope to learn
form participating this year?
Our team has not participated in this event before, but by participating in it this
year we hope to learn about using ROVs in a work setting as well as learning
how to improve our original design plans to have an ROV that can perform all
the required tasks as efficiently as possible.

What are your goals for this project and how do you plan to meet
them?
Our goals include learning how to build an ROV, creating an ROV that can
perform the tasks efficiently and smoothly, and learning more about the way an
ROV works and why it's used so much. We plan to meet these goals by working
with our team advisor and other experienced robotics builders, reading literature
and participating in work shops to learn how to make an ROV, and building a
module that is flexible and can withstand trial and error tests and can be rebuilt
if necessary.

features it has that will make it successful in the competition):

may include multiple video cameras, lighting, a specialized controller, a unique
